The Lies They Told You About "The Real World"
A mythic exploration of the deeper reality beneath everyday life, the severed lineage we inherited, and the training modern humans need to walk in both worlds.
The culture calls this “the real world”…
But to me, it’s always felt like they were talking about a shadow.
Ever since childhood, adults spoke about “reality” as if it were fixed… unquestionable… singular…
Yet the impression of something more hung all ways around me, as if someone was silently popping popcorn in a microwave nearby and pretending the world didn’t smell like butter.
Beneath the cultural version of what’s real—
The expectations… the hierarchies… the noise…
Something undeniable inside me all ways knew there was more to Life than what I was being told.
Though I didn’t know how to name what I felt, something lingered at the edge of my consciousness.
Another world hummed silently in the background, waiting for me to remember. A vast, animate, deeply interconnected reality that lived in and around every moment of my life. I could sense it—feel it, taste it, smell it.
For me—that Unseen realm has all ways been the quiet current that lights me up.
That wild Unknown brings me the greatest joy and makes meaning of what otherwise feels a meaningless existence.
But as a child, no one named it.
No one handed me the language… the lineage… the map.
I was told—as most of us were—that I had to figure out how to navigate this world with only the vague aid of an eternal, supposedly-benevolent being who may or may not ever actually take an interest in my life.
But my felt sense of a deeper reality never stopped calling.
It’s strange how easily culture pits fantasy against spirituality… intuition against logic… mundane against Magic.
We use the phrase “the real world” to be synonymous with patriarchal, hierarchical systems of control—
…automatically relegating meaning, Mystery, and Magic belong to some softer, inferior realm. But something in our souls recognizes the difference between the cultural construct and what’s real.
The cultural world is carefully controlled.
The real world is alive. The cultural world demands conformity.
The real world invites relationship. The cultural world is built on scarcity, dominance, and hierarchy.
The real world pulses with reciprocity, presence, and belonging.
Most of us feel this in our bones as a deep malaise long before we find words for it.
When we finally realize that this thing we navigate every day isn’t Life but simply culture… It can feel heartbreaking, world-shaking, and disorienting.
But beneath it all, something older waits.
A world woven of breath and soil and roots.
A world our ancestors would recognize instantly.
A world we remember in our bones… even if our minds can’t fully grasp it.
Connecting with this underlying reality is one of the quiet miracles we return to as we begin to truly train our magic.
And the beautiful news is…
This deeper reality is not metaphor. It’s the original human habitat.
Culture buried it in noise.
Religion tried to claim exclusive rights to it.
But no one can take it from you, Dear One.
It’s your birthright as a creature of Earth!
It is right here, alive beneath the surface and patiently waiting—as it all ways has been and all ways will be.
Because that vast “Otherness”… that deeper Truth beneath the surface… that ancestral awareness… is the nature of reality (whether we Choose to notice it or not).
Do you sense the deeper reality beneath the everyday world?
When did you first realize there was more to this world than you’d been told?
One of the hardest things about waking up to the deeper world…
…is realizing how much has been lost through the ages.
The lineage… the training… the generational knowledge humans once relied on to navigate the living world was broken.
For most of human history, people didn’t wake up alone.
There were elders.
There were initiations.
There were teaching tales that mapped the invisible terrain.
Humans were trained—deliberately and consciously—to perceive, interpret, and walk inside a world that was bigger than it appeared on the surface.
But somewhere between the witch burnings and the enlightenment, that lineage was severed in the West.
Sometimes violently… sometimes slowly… often by design.
Now, we awaken into a wider, wilder world without the frameworks our ancestors used to navigate it.
This is the Great Work of our time:
Re-discovering the deep senses of these beautiful human bodies.
Re-membering the reality beneath the surface of what we’ve been told.
Re-connecting with the Magic that our dominator culture tried to erase.
Re-weaving our place in the Pattern as a deeply interconnected creature of Earth.
Re-forging the lineage of ancient Wisdom threaded through our lives.
These are trainable capacities. They always were. We simply lost the training.
That is why the Inner Sanctum of Heretics exists—
Not as a replacement lineage, but as a living forge.
A place to rebuild the skills that humans once took for granted…
A space to reconnect with the old ways and re-member who we are…
A community where we reimagine a world informed by a deeper and older reality…
It’s a modern training ground for perceptive humans who never lost the ability, only the guidance.
And as our remembering deepens, we must find spaces that help us normalize, stabilize, and integrate Magic into the fabric of our daily lives.
Inside the Sanctum, we practice the things Western culture never taught us:
How to interpret subtle perception with clarity instead of doubting it.
How to navigate the deeper world without overwhelm.
How to discern intuition from fear.
How to clear cultural residue from the body.
How to stabilize sensitivity rather than collapse under it.
How to feel the living world again and respond in real time.
How to walk in both realities—cultural and eternal—with competence.
This is the work of re-membering our Magic—both ancient and emerging.
It’s about deeply belonging to a reality that not everyone can see.
It’s about having a community of magical humans with you every step of the way.
And it’s about reconnecting with the lineage of your birthright.
The Inner Sanctum is the hearth where remembering gathers—
A place to strengthen the skills that make the invisible visible again… to steady what is awakening… and to walk in both worlds with clarity and sovereignty.
In Magic, energetic exchange is crucial to create lasting and meaningful results. When the exchange is too small, people show up half-in…the work lands softly instead of deeply.
When the exchange is right, commitment strengthens… support is a felt-experience… and transformation abounds.
So on January 1st, the subscription for the Inner Sanctum of Heretics will shift to $22/month, to more accurately align with the Power, Beauty, Wisdom, and Transformation available here.
Anyone who joins before that date will be Grandmothered In at a lower rate, as long as they remain.
If you’ve been lingering at the edges… watching… listening… sensing the tug of this work but hesitant to step in—this is your doorway. I hope you’ll consider this a moment of invitation and opportunity.
The legacy rate—less than half of what it will be one month from today—is available only through the end of 2025.
If something in this stirred a recognition… a memory… a quiet yes whispered from your soul…
Now is the time to join.
We’ll be honored to welcome you to the circle.

I looked for The Chalice and The Blade and found wildly different prices for what appears to be the same book. What book are you reading?
I love that "grandmothered in" instead of grandfathered!
Love what you shared here in this post. I feel the 'Chalice and Blade' in this writing. Not that you are quoting the book, but being that I'm reading it, it's message is clear, I see it in these words. But of course in your own manner, experience and way. We are so on the same page! 💜
