I’m writing again.

Not just pouring my heart out on Substack and publishing tidy articles that can be written, consumed, and forgotten within the week…

I’m in the trenches with my next novel. And there’s no Christmas truce in sight.

What that really means is that I’m heart-deep in Irish mysticism, living with one eye in the Otherworld, fingers poised on the keyboard, ready to drop everything and live in a hut in the woods for the next few years.

The good news is that I finally made it here—to a place of trust where I could lose myself again in a story and not wonder if I’d ever find my way back to ordinary reality. (It took me years last time!)

My daughter started school in September. After 5 years of soul-led hiatus from hardcore writing, I can finally dedicate time and space to creating and describing worlds beyond this one without worrying about drifting out of Presence with those who matter most to me.

It is hard to describe the liminal space I experience when I’m writing deeply-immersive magical fiction. My body becomes light and strong—my husband described it as glowing today. My mind becomes untethered, wandering into misty and miraculous spaces easily and often. Everyday life appears extraordinary—the way a leaf wavers in the wind before finally letting go, plunging to the earth in an ultimate act of faith, feels as if it takes hours to observe (and sometimes leaves me weeping).

While I may hope to share such mystic observations with my Heretics here on Substack… I make no promises. This creative state—which may last days, months, or years—is dangerous in it’s unpredictability. I do not know who I will be next week or what I will do. I know only that I will follow where my soul leads and write what I am called to write.

I will not fight whatever tides have me ebb and flow from this page, but I look forward to sharing magical space with you each month. Our gatherings will continue, and I hope, become a cherished tradition for those who Choose to live and train their magic.

For those who are here reading, learning, and growing with me, I want to say thank you for your commitment to the Magic we know is possible.

Whatever the coming adventure brings, I look forward to gathering with you in sacred space to share our gifts and rediscover the Ancestral Magic of our birthright.
