Summer is such a busy season and I feel like I have a million and a half things I need and want to do. I don’t show myself the same level of self-care as I do during the rest of the year. I have come to depend on the little things I’ve been adding to my summer routine, like doing breath work in the morning while I’m lying in bed or stepping into the shower with the intention of making it cold at the end for some cold therapy. And like you said, going into Nature as often as I can is key.
Thank you for sharing, Sylvia. Tiny practices can make all the difference!
I’ve been embracing the feeling of really wanting to do something as a form of self-care. Rather than adding things to my to-do list, I’ve been stepping into summer activities as things that feed and nourish my soul.
We’re starting renovations now and I have been going at a pace that feels delightful in the midst of the work. I wonder if you could your million-and-a-half things (or at least some of them) with a spirit of self-care… especially if they’re things you’re longing to do!
Thank you so much for this wisdom, Allysha! I felt my whole body soften when I read this. Lately, I've been pushing myself into un-Jenna rhythms. I'm not even sure why. It's all self-imposed deadlines around some story I've made up about what needs to be done by a certain time. Truly, thank you for this reminder to open my fists and let my natural rhythmic genius take the lead. ❤️
So lovely to hear this, Jenna. During high summer, the world's energies are full-bodied and wild. In the human body, these can feel very chaotic, often feeling like pressure to strive for more than we can handle. Great noticing that you're pushing yourself, Jenna. Finding our rhythm this time of year is like a dance. Every blessing for finding your beat, rhythm, and harmony! ☀️✨🎶
