The Magic of Our Ancestors
What Happened When an Ancient Secret Dropped into my Lap
I was charged with guarding an ancient secret. It sounds crazy, but it’s true.
About a decade ago, Sir Henry Lincoln—the man who really lived the The Da Vinci Code mystery—confided in me. A venerable old man nearing the end of his life, he feared his discoveries would once again be lost to the ages. He’d done his best to share the Wisdom of our ancestors with the world, but it was time to pass on the legacy to the next guardian.
Before I met the man who would change my life forever, I had no idea that Mystery Seeker was a real job. It had never occurred to me that I might be able to spend my life traveling, researching ancient stories, and writing about what I discovered. At that point, I had already spent years writing, generally tucked away in the corner of some French café, drinking a café crème or a Campari, and dreaming of the day I would have a story worth telling. Somehow deep down, I knew I needed to be ready—and I was.
After seven years working closely with Sir Henry, I published my visionary, historical fiction novel The Heretic, telling the story of the ancient secret in a way that is accessible and powerful for a modern audience. It’s been a wild ride—following clues (of course he made me discover the ancient secret for myself!), studying histories, writing the epic novel that tells the whole story, and learning to sell books, give talks, and run international businesses.
Now, I want to share the Wisdom of our ancestors and the explore the nature of our world. My time studying ancient secrets in the Languedoc of France taught me that there’s more to life than our modern minds want to admit. There are powers and wonders beyond our imaginings, and when we’re willing to try on an enchanted worldview—amazing magic happens.
Secrets of a Magical Life is a place to explore the grounded and historical magic that humans observed through the ages. It’s a community where we can try on ideas and See for ourselves the power and practicality of acknowledging our deep interconnection with Everything. Perhaps most of all, I hope to co-create a space to share training on the Initiate’s Path and find companionship in the oft-lonely inner journey of the Soul.
