Spring and Easter season is all about growth, transformation, renewal, and rebirth. My own spiritual Path is intense right now, but I'm surrendering to transformation, and inviting you to join me!

A Season of Transformation

Spring is kicking my butt.

Maple syrup season… deep ancestral healing work… beginning a year-long course that will inevitably transform my life… and preparing for a HUGE sacred journey in France at the end of the month… have left me in a state that defies words. It’s as if my insides have been put into a cocktail shaker and all I can hear is the clacking of ice against cold metal.

In sharp contrast to so many dark nights of the soul in my early adulthood, I have no feeling that something is wrong. A deep malaise is running buck-wild across my life hand in hand with a secret, dark Beauty. That is all.

While I might prefer the high joys of summer when I’m full of energy and ready to face the world feeling strong and bold, that’s not where I am right now. And I am grateful for the luxury of being allowed to be exactly as I am. There’s a grace in being shattered and showing up with handfuls of glimmering pieces, simply saying:

This is what I bring today—all of myself, in no form I have ever known.

My job isn’t to feel good all the time, or even to pretend it, as so many in our culture are forced to do. My job is simply to show up, be present, and listen. When I am willing to be seen in the throes of transformation… tired and torn apart… with hair disheveled or tears streaming down my face, I carve space for others to do the same.

So here I am—showing up and surrendering all the details to a Wisdom greater than my own.

Perfectly… hilariously… the theme that has been coming through this month’s magical exploration is SURRENDER. It has been whispering at the edge of my consciousness for weeks now, begging for entry. I must wonder: if I had let it into my body when I still had strength of my own to move forward, would I have shattered into so many pieces. Perhaps not. I don’t know.

If you are merely passing through this space—a peripheral reader of Mystery, Magic & Mayhem—this is the month to run screaming to the hills. To back away slowly before a wild transformation overcomes you and you become unrecognizable to yourself.

Here, on the eve of summer, a powerful birthing… remaking… growth… and yes, breaking is coming through. We see it all around us—the old ways of being dying.

What is it inside of you that is ready to melt away like the snow?

What is ready to be born?

Are you willing to surrender to the season?

Will you give yourself to your own rebirth?

The Easter season is nearly upon us—a season celebrated for its qualities of resurrection since long before the son of Mary rose. New buds and shoots are everywhere (though not quite yet where I live). Yet we must not forget that it is in the mulch of the death and decay that new growth is nourished.

This is the season when hope overcomes despair. When something new and wild is born from the ashes. This is the season when the world comes alive once more.

Can you let yourself die that you can live again?

Whew! That got intense quickly, didn’t it? Here I thought I was just going through something… little did I know I would invite you along.

Please—feel free to run the other way, dear one!

Transformation… death… rebirth… growth… magic… are not for the faint of heart!

But if you do decide to embrace your own transformation… If you decide—like the caterpillar—that you were born to fly… If you Choose to walk the Path of your own greatest becoming…
