Today, I’m supposed to write about something.
I’m supposed to announce a brand new (super amazing) offering we’re doing here at Mystery, Magic & Mayhem.
But like drawing for an inside straight, writing into a “supposed to” often feels impossible to me.
I live my life at the whim of the universe.
If the muses show up, I write something brilliant. If they don’t, I peck away at keys for a while and then erase it all (hopefully).
We don’t live in a world that makes space for that easily, but for the most part I’ve found ways to be trustworthy without compromising my inspiration and integrity.
Except for moments like this…
Sitting here at a little corner table in my favorite coffee shop, tapping nonsense on the keys without feeling the passion that generally takes over my body when I enter into a writing trance… I feel stuck.
Nothing’s coming. No inspiration to save me.
Then… while agonizing about how to announce this new event (whose date is rapidly approaching)… my friend Katie (who also happens to be part of our magical community here at Mystery, Magic & Mayhem) calls suddenly.
Grateful for the excuse to do anything but bang my head against the keyboard, I pick up the phone. Amazingly, when I share my dilemma with her, she immediately sees the synchronicity and irony of it.
Katie’s brilliant advice:
“What if you just wrote about the way that we always feel like we’re supposed to do things, but actually the universe never stops working for us? You know… the way we’re taught to work hard instead of enjoying ourselves, but actually the Magic happens when we let go.”
Of course! The dilemma I’m having is precisely what I need to write about!
The Universe is cheeky.
It can be hard to let go… to trust that beautiful things are all ways being created in the background through our intention and alignment.
That’s exactly the task that’s been showing up for me since the beginning of the year.
In January, a book showed up in my world that simultaneously confirmed things I’d long-sensed and turned my world on it’s head.
The book showed up out of nowhere—urgent and insistent.
Answering the call, I started the Heretic Reading Circle, choosing Love Money, Money Loves You for our very first read. But after our first magical book club gathering, it was obvious that none of us could let this book go.
We spend another month exploring the title—February’s conversations went even deeper into the Magic contained in this mythic tome… but we had still only scratched the surface.
A book club that reads the same book over and over again is a pretty sad affair. But we needed to stay with this energy… this exploration… this Magic…
I felt the need in myself, and I recognized it in the group.
The book in question was more than just a brilliant read.
It was a message to humanity—channelled from the energy of Money itself.
It reads like a Love letter, an important mission, and a deep breath all in one.
The book offers insights and freedom around:
What Money really is and why we don’t understand it
Why it’s okay to want it… have it… love it… use it
Why we don’t have all the money we want and need
How to enjoy everything you do and why that’s your real job
How to create a beautiful relationship with the energy of Money
And ultimately… how to create infinite wealth in your life
Practically, I have literally doubled my income since listening to this book, but that doesn’t even feel like the most important thing about it.
I am happier… more joyful… more connected… more freakin’ magical…
…now that I am engaged in deep relationship with the beautiful and powerful energy of Money.
So, as part of our curriculum for helping you train your unique Magic here on Planet Earth, I’m officially opening the Mystery, Magic & Mayhem:
LOVE MONEY PRACTICE GROUP
We’re coming together to explore the Magic of Money.
How Money works in the invisible world behind our world… flows through our lives with power and promise… comes in through our willingness and contribution… goes out through our relationships and offerings… moves through our lives with pleasure and possibility… and yes—Loves us—deeply and truly.
Money is more than just paper in your pocket or a number in a bank account. It’s the possibility of possibilities—a force of Great Magic in our world.
If your relationship with Money is not what you know it could be… this event is for you.
Because this group will be a co-creation, I can’t begin to imagine the depth of the conversations that will unfold, but if it’s anything like our other Mystery, Magic & Mayhem events, it will probably expand your life, magic, and bank account!

Read or listen to Love Money, Money Loves You by Sarah McCrum. You do not have to have read the entire book to participate in the first gathering. You just need to be completely immersed in the energy of the book.
