Exploring ancient traditions to create modern rituals that authentically resonate with who you are (rather than coopting ancient rites and pretending to understand them).
I really resonated with what you shared about how so many of the stories, myths and tales of the past have been lost. They sure have, co-opted by Christianity, patriarchy, politics, etc. Retold with their own agenda. Using the old tales to have access to those they which to convert. So many oral stories lost or held captive by the written word. Yet so many have remained. Maybe battered and torn but they are there. Also they reside within our blood and bodies, in the land, and by connecting with our hearts and souls.
The old stories are still there… beneath the surface. We just need to learn to read them again, speak them again, sing and dance them again. I think understanding and accepting what has been lost is an important part of the healing process—allowing the grief of centuries to be present and released instead of gliding along on the surface. Glad to hear you enjoyed my explorations here. Looking forward to checking out how Litha is speaking to you this year.
I agree. Being with the grief, letting it chip away at the shell, the hardness that keeps these stories at bay. They are there, just as you said "beneath the surface." A language that we are already fluent in, yet need to relearn, redream. I feel so much of my life in the past few years has been allowing this process to be present, so I can let these stories rise again and reclaim me. I sense this is similarly with you as well.
This is so wonderful Allysha, I can feel through your words the very primal raw energy of truly embodying the essence of the rituals of our ancestors. I agree, it's something to be felt within your blood, bones, cells and muscles. For example I've never read about any pagan rituals, but they come through me, I don't know any Native American rites, but my guides taken me on those journeys. It's to be immersed in the whole experience when you create the magic. I so wish I could be there with for that wonderful celebration!
Yes! With your deep connection to the world of Spirit, it makes total sense that you would have experienced a connection with these ancient traditions! When we feel that longing to connect, it’s so easy to look to the past or to others for how to get there, it there’s something so powerful that unfolds when we’re willing to go inside ourselves for the “answers”. So much can be felt and experienced when we open ourselves to connect with the world. ☀️✨💜

That's just it isn't it, to rely on our own wisdom is the most powerful choice we can make.
Yes yes yes!! 🙌
